Terms of Service
Effective date: July 15, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Tabox browser extension, the tabox.co website, and the Tabox Pro subscription (together, the "Service"). Tabox is operated by Gil Goldstein ("Tabox", "we", "us"). By installing the extension, visiting the site, or purchasing a subscription, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. The Service
Tabox is a browser extension for Chrome and Microsoft Edge that lets you save open tabs and tab groups into named collections, organize collections into folders, export and import them, and optionally sync them across devices using your own Google Drive account.
The core extension is free to use. Some features ("Tabox Pro") require a paid subscription, as described on our pricing page.

2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 16 years old (or the minimum age required to consent to these Terms in your country) to use the Service. The free extension does not require an account. Purchasing Tabox Pro requires a valid email address, which is used to identify your subscription and deliver billing communications.

3. Subscriptions and billing
-
Merchant of record. Payments for Tabox Pro are processed by Paddle.com Market Ltd ("Paddle"), our merchant of record. Your purchase is also subject to Paddle's Checkout Buyer Terms. Paddle handles payment processing, invoicing, and applicable sales taxes; we never see or store your payment details.
-
Auto-renewal. Subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis and renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled.
-
Cancellation. You can cancel at any time via the customer portal linked from your billing emails or by contacting us at info@tabox.co. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep access to Pro features until then.
-
Price changes. We may change subscription prices. Price changes apply from your next renewal, and we will give you reasonable advance notice so you can cancel first if you wish.
-
Downgrade. If your subscription ends, you keep the free features and your saved data; only Pro features stop working.

4. Refunds
If something isn't working, contact us at info@tabox.co and we'll try to fix it. Refund requests are handled on a case-by-case basis in accordance with Paddle's buyer terms and applicable consumer protection law. Where required by law (for example, statutory cooling-off periods), refunds will always be honored.

5. License and acceptable use
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Tabox extension for your own use. You agree not to:
-
resell, sublicense, or redistribute the Service as your own product;
-
circumvent, disable, or interfere with licensing, subscription, or security features;
-
use the Service in violation of applicable law or third-party rights (including the terms of the Chrome Web Store, Microsoft Edge Add-ons, or Google Drive); or
-
use the Service to store or distribute unlawful content.

6. Your data
Your collections, folders, and settings belong to you. Tabox is local-first: your data is stored on your device and is not sent to Tabox servers. If you enable Google Drive sync, your data is stored in your own Google account, and your use of Google Drive is governed by Google's own terms. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Because your data lives on your device and (optionally) in your own Google Drive, you are responsible for maintaining backups. Tabox provides export and automatic-backup features to help with this, but we cannot recover data that was lost from your device or your Google account.

7. AI features
Some Tabox features use on-device AI models built into your browser (such as Chrome's built-in AI) to suggest names, organize collections, and similar tasks. Processing happens locally on your device. AI-generated suggestions can be inaccurate — review results before relying on them. AI features depend on your browser's capabilities and may not be available on every device.

8. Third-party services
The Service interacts with third-party services we do not control, including the Chrome Web Store, Microsoft Edge Add-ons, Google Drive, and Paddle. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for them.

9. Intellectual property
The Tabox name, logo, and the Service (excluding your data) are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. Except for the license granted above, these Terms do not give you any rights to the Service. Portions of Tabox's source code are available on GitHub; any open-source license stated there applies to that code.

10. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data loss will never occur. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenues, or data, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service. Our total liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) US $50. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

12. Termination
You can stop using Tabox at any time by uninstalling the extension. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service (including Pro features) if you materially breach these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 9–11) survive.

13. Changes to the Service or these Terms
We may modify or discontinue features of the Service at any time. We may also update these Terms; if we make material changes, we will post the updated Terms on this page with a new effective date and, for material changes affecting paid subscriptions, provide notice by email or in the extension. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of [JURISDICTION — e.g., the State of Israel], without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and disputes will be resolved in the competent courts of [VENUE]. If you are a consumer, you keep any mandatory protections of the law of your country of residence.
