About Tabox

Tabox started in 2020 as a simple idea: saving and restoring groups of browser tabs should be easy, fast, and beautiful. What began as a small side project has grown into a tab manager trusted by more than 30,000 people who use it to save, organize, and share their browser tabs every day.

Who Builds Tabox

Tabox is built and maintained by Gil Goldstein, a software engineer based in Austin, Texas. There is no company behind it, no growth team, and no investors. Every feature, bug fix, and support reply comes from the same person who uses Tabox daily to keep his own tabs in order.

Being independent shapes how Tabox is made. Features get added because they make organizing tabs better, not because a roadmap demands them. And when something breaks, you are talking directly to the person who can fix it.

Open Source, By Design

Tabox is open source. The full source code is available on GitHub, where you can review how it works, report issues, and suggest improvements. For a tool that touches your browser tabs, being able to see exactly what the code does matters. The core of Tabox is free and always will be: saving collections, restoring them, organizing with folders, and syncing through your own Google Drive. An optional Tabox Pro subscription adds advanced features and helps keep the project sustainable without ads or selling data.
